Welcome to Kotonoha Family Law. My name is Toshiteru Shibaike, and I am an attorney (Bengoshi) admitted in Japan with a deep focus on international marriage, divorce, and cross-border child custody matters. I am also a licensed clinical psychologist, uniquely positioned to understand the emotional complexities behind legal disputes, especially those involving children and trauma.Having worked extensively with international couples and families, I understand how confusing and overwhelming it can be to navigate Japanese family law—especially when it comes to parental rights, custody, and Hague Convention cases. My mission is to offer not only accurate legal guidance but also compassionate, culturally sensitive support to help families make the best possible decisions for themselves and their children.
